migration from raid 1 to raid 5

Does Raid Controller 1M support migration from Raid Level 1 to Raid Level 5 without destroying any data?

Hi Chris,

yes it does. However, it is a good idea to make a good back up of your data first (Just in case some iconvinience happen)

Re: migration from raid 1 to raid 5

Hi Chris,

You might need to have Netraid Assistant for winodws operating system or if you have Netware you need Megamanager. You can download that from this link depending on what kind of operating system you have

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=51917&taskId=135&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=51915〈=en&cc=us

1. Selecet you Operating system
2. Download the Utility under "Software Storage Controller" (If windows 2000, it will be under Microsoft Windows 2000 server)
3. Unzip the download to a folder and install it by double clicking setup in that folder
Once you got Netraid aassistant installed here is the link which containes the steps on how to migrate the raid level in Microsoft Windows

It is pritty much the same if you have netware too
