mraidnt.sys

I have a Netserver E 800 running Windows Nt Server 4.0 with service pack 6.0a. I have a Netraid 1si installed with 3 disk of 9.0Go. I have often a message in the event log of Windows:

Event ID: 9
Source: mraidnt.sys
Description: The device, devicescsiport2, did not respond within the timeout period.

I have updated the firmware of the Netraid card and the driver.

Re: mraidnt.sys

Start NetRAID Assistant on you server,
leave it running. When you have a problem logged into event viewer, read the log made by NetRAID assistant and check, using the property of each disk if they have errors.
It may be a disk has a problem.

You may try also to run once the "check consistency" on your logical disk. The performancd of the server will decrease, so do it when the users are back home.

Re: mraidnt.sys

There was no error in the log of the Netraid Assistant. Do you know in which slot the Netraid card should be? I didn't find the information. Maybe it's the problem...

Re: mraidnt.sys

Hi Luc

E800 PCI slots share the IRQ.

PCI Slot 1, PCI Slot 5
PCI Slot 2 and PCI Slot 6
PCI Slot 4 and integrated NIC
PCI Slot 3 and integrated SCSI

Avoid the install any disck controller in PCI slot 4 because it shares the IRQ with a the integrated NIC card.
So looking the above scheme avoid if possible that the NetRAID 1Si shares IRQ with any other PCI card.

Do you have others PCI cards inside your E800 ?

Re: mraidnt.sys

I Luc,
For you problem (event id 9), you must change the cable.
