Re: new disks

Can you tell which Disk Array you have ?
How much capacity of Disks you are thinking of adding and mirroring in the Array?

Re: new disks

Yes you can add those disk in place of 73Gb disks. 146GB/10K Ultra 320 drives are supported on DS2300. Remember , DS2300 does support Ultra 320 connection speed. It will operate at Ultra 160 speed only with those drives.

You have to take backup of you data of 73GB disks first , then you have create a new VG and required lvols with those 146GB disks and restore your data.

Re: new disks

That is great. I want add a new LV to it. Then move the data to the new LV. Is this the best way? I will add two and use one to mirror the other.

Re: new disks

Oops!!!! Sorry
Slipped out "not" in my last reply.
DS2300 Does Not support Ultra 320 connection speed.

But Ultra 320 drives would work in it at Ultra160 Speed.

I am not sure what you wanna do exactly and what sort of configuration you have. I guess you have all 73GB disks installed and all have some data. If you want replace two of them with 146Gb drives, then backup your data and create a VG and LVs , restore data and mirror them.
