nike array

I'm attaching a hp model 20 disk array to an hp 9000 series 800 e25 server. Only one of the sp's are showing up when I use sam. If i have all of the disks unbound, both sp's are recognized, but as soon as I bind the disks...the secondary SP dies and sam throws an error: sam was unable to determine the disk drive model of the disk drive attached to your system.

Anyone know why the SP's would be so tempermental??? Or how I would be able to fix it???

Re: nike array

i have a few model 20s if you are interested in spare parts.

i too remember having flaky behavior with the SPs. for me the issue was with PV links and somehow causing a SP to go offline. my suggestion is make sure of your disk paths, but seems you are not even getting that far ...which makes me guess that the second SP could be going bad (i think i went through 2 or 3 when ours were in production over 4 years)

I am not sure, but it might have something to do with the FLAIR code, maybe an expert can elaborate more..just an idea :)
