share FC60 Experience
Hi Folks,
after I use FC60 mostly stability for 2 years (most of the problem is with disk modules fail).
BUT I just got big problem with FC60 after controller B fail when switch owner, a lot of file system corrupted. don't know reasons.
this is Oracle database server. Archive log also corrupted.
I take 4 days to restore data back and ( we have alomst 20 database instances) production down at that time.
CE replace controller , upgrade disk firmware to HP03. Controller firmware already HP11 before disaster.
Please share me experience about problem / stability or anything you feel with your FC60.
I want to know more about other people feeling about this product.

Re: share FC60 Experience
Please always make sure you're doing regular backup. It is not dependant on hardware/software reliability, but to be sure if you'll have (god forbid!) disaster to be able to restore data;
Please check to have disks in LUNs spread across JBODs (SC10s). If one SC10 will fail you'll have other disks in other SC10s running;
HP does not supprot FC60 in fabric login, only in loop (as storage legacy device);
Please regularly check FC60 and system event logs and if in doubt take action/call HP;
Have two power supplies of FC60 controller and SC10s connected to different power of source (for example, different UPSes);
Keep track of FC60 controller battery state/life;
Do not do anything with FC60 physically (disconnect cables, unplug disks, etc) w/o checking with HP is it ok to do it.

Re: share FC60 Experience
Hello,
We have 2 FC60s in the field.
They have some controller firmware problems, but I assumed that they were solved with HP11. Prior to that, we had HP03 firmware, and it gave us a lot of problems. Since upgrading to HP11 everything seems fine (touch wood!!!!)
HTH,
Vince
