PS: yes you are right he wants to boot from the same drive positions (arrays)

This is how i fixed a similar problem.
The 221 always want to boot from Array A.
What you should do is this.
1. Remove all disks from the server.
2. Clear configuration on the controller.
3. Insert the new 36 GB Array in the server in the slots where the old Array A was located.
4. Power up the server. When the controller asks if it should update the configuration, answer Yes.
Tada! Now your 36 GB Array become Array A, and it should boot nicely from it.
Keep in mind that if it fails, you allways got the 9 Gb array intact and can do a rollback with that.
