subject:confused about va7400
i have encountered a situation that one va7400 connecting to two SD32000, one was the primary node to use the va7400's LUN, but did not have sanmgr installed, that meant, there was no armdsp command on it, and another had sanmgr installed, but could not use the va7400's LUN, and when i run armdsp -a va7400, it showed: Login failed, you are not authorized to access this system. i have never made such configuration before, so i want to know: how can i reach this? how can i attain the status of the va7400 without connecting a serial cable to the serial port of the va7400?
thanks a lot

Re: subject:confused about va7400
the software is called commandview sdm.
All connected nodes must have access to LUN0.
Please check the following files:
/opt/sanmgr/hostagent/config/access.dat
/opt/sanmgr/hostagent/config/commIpAddr.txt
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: subject:confused about va7400
/etc/opt/sanmgr/hostagent/config/commIpAddr.txt
run
armdsp -i
to check if you can "see" the array.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: subject:confused about va7400
To disable the feature, stop the Command View sotware using
# /opt/sanmgr/hostagent/sbin/HA_trigger stop
# /opt/sanmgr/hostagent/sbin/dial_trigger stop
Check the file
/opt/sanmgr/commandview/server/config/PanConfigParams.txt for entry SECURITY_ENABLED.
Make it equal to false.
Re-start the Command View software:
# /opt/sanmgr/hostagent/sbin/HA_trigger start
# /opt/sanmgr/hostagent/sbin/dial_trigger start
Then try the "armdsp -a"
Take a look a the CV SDM manual as well
