two EVA6100 2 identic diskgroups
We have foolowing situation:
2 EVA6100
each eva contains 2 diskgroups, one of them "fiber2", which comprises 50 disks FC 136.73GB
Model BF1465A693 Firmware HP02
on each eva the disk group fibre2 has the same amount of disks and the same disk types.
But when looking at the total storage space they are different!
Has anybody a suggestion, why this can happen?
Following ist the sssu-extract of the two disk groups

Re: two EVA6100 2 identic diskgroups
I seem to recall there being an issue with Command View misreporting disk space with certain versions. A resync of the controllers might sort that out, but you should probably get HP to confirm the problem for you first.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob

Re: two EVA6100 2 identic diskgroups
We use CV 7.0 ! I have already contacted HP. They say, that our EAB-Numbering is false. Especially that there is a jump from 6 to 8, though we used the next port on the EVA, which shows less disk capacity
disk shelf EAB
1 1
2 2
3 3
4 4
contr.A+B 5
5 7 !!!
6 8
They also told us, that using EAB address 7 is not recommended. But this is an other story :-)
We will check the cabling once again, and then resync the controllers
best regards

Re: two EVA6100 2 identic diskgroups
What is the total storage space on each group?
What is the protection level set to on each group?

The protection level on both evas for fiber2-diskgroup is the same

Re: two EVA6100 2 identic diskgroups
From the last reply you can see:
both on EVA1 and EVA2 the disk-group fiber2 contains 50 disks (of same type (checked and once again checked :-( )
The protection level is the same
But when looking at the total storage space
EVA1: totalstoragespacegb ..................: 6417.26
EVA2:
totalstoragespacegb ..................: 5719.22
And there is an other "interesting", or frustrating effect
Neither on EVA1 nor EVA2 the ssu-output of
usedstoragespacegb ...................: EVA1 6417.26 ( no space left?? ) the same on EVA2
is correct
Both on EVA1 and EVA2 the used space show in Command View 7.0 is much less, but also differing from each other
Command View
EVA1: Occupancy 4027.24 (one more vdisk)
EVA2: Occupancy 3116GB
