upgrade hdd with different hdd capacity

Greetings all,

I'm trying to upgrade current 72GB hdd with 146GB on my Proliant DL580 G2.

Can i replace one hdd at time? Can the RAID rebuilt the new hdd with a different capacity?

Re: upgrade hdd with different hdd capacity

Yes, you can add a 146 GB disk to a RAID that has 72 GB disks, but only 72 Gb will be used.
If you replace the disks one by one and wait until RAID rebuilds each time, you'll end up with a RAID with 146 GB disks, and a logical unit that occupies half the space. Then you can make that logical unit bigger or create a new one.
