upgrading from 431 to 53xx
after installing the 53xx, we get a blue screen when win 2000 starts
to boot-up. we have installed the latest versinon of the ROM.
all disk drives come up on the array configuration at boot time.
any ideas.
We want to upgrade the 431 SCSI controller in a ML570 to a 5302/ax controller. Is this a backup/restore update or does the new controller recognize the Raid-set. If this is possible. What procedure must we follow

Re: upgrading from 431 to 53xx
The 5300 controller uses a different operating system driver than the 431. Install the 5300 with no drives attached and boot up and install the latest drivers. Then down the system, configure the 5300 as your boot controller through the configuration utility, switch the drives to the new controller and reboot.

Re: upgrading from 431 to 53xx
BLUE SCREEN -> after controller upgrade can have ONLY two reasons
1) you need a different driver
2) there is a firmware - driver conflict (upgrade firmware)
when the Array Init reports at least one logical drive ALL YOUR DATA are there !!!
