use mirrored disk on plain scsi
Suppose I have 2 disks in an array, using raid 1=mirroring.
Can I remove one of these disks, hook it up to a different computer, using a plain scsi host adapter, and access the data on the disk?
Or does the array controller do some 'voodoo', even when writing plain mirrored disks?
I want to do this because I intend to use the mirrored disks for a transaction log. In case of disaster, i'd restore the backup (from tape) on another server (which has only plain scsi, no raid controller).
Then i'd connect one of the disks to this server, and apply the transaction log, ending up with an up-to-the-second data base.

Re: use mirrored disk on plain scsi
No , the drive cannot be removed from the Array Controller to a plain SCSI controller without losing data . the drive would have to be reformatted .
