We have a two node cluster witha VA7100, however when I execute CVUI, I do not see the device and I only get the following:
Storage Device Selection
Choice Device Id Alias Device Type
===============================================================================
1 Refresh
(1-1=Choice, a=App menu, h=Help, x=eXit)>
I would very much appreciate it if someone couyld tell me what the problem is and what the possible solution woul be.

Solution
There are several possible causes of your problem...
Make sure you have connectivity first. You can check this via "ioscan -fnC disk" - make sure there's a LUN 0 there (the VA7100 comes up as a "A6188A", if I remember correctly.)
If that appears, be sure that "armdiscover" finds the array. If it does not, check the array settings to be sure you have the correct topology and hostmode. Check the security settings (LUN 0 should have no security set on it).
Once you've done this, please post back and let us know how you made out.
Good luck!

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: va7100 CVUI
Whenever you have difficulty with communicatin with command view, do an armdiscover.
An armdiscover does an ioscan so don't be doing multiple armdiscovers or ioscans on the same host at the same time.
Hope this helps,
