Re: xp128 disk addition

I do not understand your question!

An XP128 can only have 1 or 2 DKA which are called ACP at HP.(DKA = Disk Adapter)
However it can have between 1 and 3 CHA which are called CHIP at HP (CHA = Channel Adapter)

So can you please restate your configuration!

XP128 or XP1024?
How myny ACP installed?
How many CHIP installed?
How many disks installed?

Then please state what you want to do; install new arry groups or reconfigure existing disks?

Cheers
Peter

PS: Find attache an XP128 architecture slide

Re: xp128 disk addition

You always add disk in groups of 4 disks = 1 Array Group.
See the attached drawing. It shows 3 possible slots to put Array Groups in.

So for example you can fill the green then the red then the blue slots.
- You can install all available XP disks like 36GB, 72GB, 146GB and 300GB.
- The 4 disks in an Array Group have to be the same!
- You need at least 1 spare disk for every disk type

Note:
Disks in an XP have to be installed by a certified HP engineer!
