I know the part numbers are different,
but will L-Class discs HotPlug into an SC10 & vice versa?
[I thought I'd just check before I make a bigggggg expensive mistake :)]

The real problem is support. If some problem arise, then a call towards HP will get nothing, because the hw config will be unsupported...

SolutionThey should be OK. We have a number of L-class servers and SC10's, and we use the same 18.2GB LVD disks in all of them.
Had no problems getting replacements sent out, and never been asked what sort of unit the disk is to go into.

Yup i do it all the time and have had no problems.
The disks i'm using are just 9 and 18gb seagates but the caddy they are in fin in both the the l class and the sc10.

Thanks for the advice, but I've never known an HP field engineer to kick up a fuss about part numbers
