Command for multipathing

Hi all,
What is the command to check whether the multipathing is enabled or not in ESX3.5.

Re: Command for multipathing

Multipathing is implemented by the kernel and automatically activated during boot. I am not sure you can turn it off.

"esxcfg-mpath -l" gives you information about all disks and whether there are multiple paths.

Re: Command for multipathing

If you are a GUI person, open up the VI Client, attach to vCenter, or to an ESX server directly.

Click on the server you want to check, go to the configuration tab, click on storage adaptors from the left menu, click on your storage adaptor, then right click one of the disks that should have multiple paths and select "Manage Paths".

The paths should be listed if there are multiple paths. This is a good way to check to see that you have the necessary paths enabled on your Storage Array and/or via zoning.

As stated, multipathing is enabled by default.
