DRS

I have a Cluster of vmware with 6 hosts, HA and DRS formed without pooles, DRS with fully automated. It would please me to know if when hosts is overloaded the DRS moves virtual machines to host with more free resources or any host with resources to start the virtual machine?

Re: DRS

DRS will 'kick in' if a host shows resource contentions - this works without additional resource pools. (DRS will not attempt to equally 'load-balance' across all available hosts.)

If you attempt to power on a VM, DRS can make a suggestion on which host to move the VM to.
.

Re: DRS

But...Is strange. There is a host without virtual machines running and DRS relocate the virtual machines in other host with VM running.

Re: DRS

DRS will move a busy VM if it calculates that VM will run better on another server. It doesn't balance the load.
DRS can be configured to be conservative or aggressive in whether it moves things or not. You could try an make it more aggressive about moving things.
