vSphere 4.1 Best Practices on EVA
Is there any news on an updated "Best Practices for vSphere 4.1 on EVA Storage" incorporating ALUA, MRU, Fixed etc with SIOC in mind also ?.
We have several EVA's presently running ESX 3.5 and we want o upgrade to ESX 4.1 as soon as possible.
Best Regards
Bob

Re: vSphere 4.1 Best Practices on EVA
Hi,
I am trying to configure an HP 6100 EVA and VMWARE VSPHERE.
I have tryed ESXi 4 , 5 , 5.5 and ESX 4.1 . (2 hba s on various servers and various hbas )
In all cases I can see both controllers and all paths to the controller , I can see all hba s from CV (tryed from 9.3 to 10.3) ...I can see EVA from vshpere client , vcenter storage plugin , ....etc.
At the time of creating a disk and presenting it to the HOST ...the host does not see the LUN it only sees the controller .....i have only managed to see the lun once and that was when one controller suddenly failed....
what am I doing wrong....how to present the LUN to the HOST

Re: vSphere 4.1 Best Practices on EVA
Hi,
Do you experience any errors? If yes, please update in here.
Also, if possible, please chare the screenshot of the vmhba adapter where it shows connected devices and targets.
Suggestion: Please try creating the luns by connecting to host using vsphere client instead of connecto vcenter and then assiging a lun to host.
