Re: DL380 G6 Automatic Power on after RE-AC power cord on ESXi 4.1
As I understand your issue, you are using DL380 G6 server with Automatic Power on : Disbale in BIOS.
But server powers up automatically if power cord gets connected.
In my opinion its noting to do with ESXi or Windows because OS has no such settings and its not even working while the server is OFF.
One example, if the power outage happened in the powered off state, the server will remain powered off, and if it happened when the server was in a powered on state, the server will start again, regardless of whether the Automatic Power On option is disabled in the BIOS.
What I think is you are not gracefully shutting down ESXi.
Try this:
Gracefully shutdown ESXi and let the server turn OFF, then remove and reconnect the power cord and test.
Hope this helps

Also you said that you are changing the Hard drives with OS, can you give us the hard drive model number on which you have installed VMware.
Thanks

Re: DL380 G6 Automatic Power on after RE-AC power cord on ESXi 4.1
Just remove all Hard drives and test the server for Automatic Power on issue.
If it does not Automatic Power on then we have to check on the hard drive model.
