Firmware update for Stand alone Proliant DL360 G7 running HP esxi 5.0.0, 474610

Solution : Update firmware (bios, disk and ilo) for DL 360 G7 servers running HP esxi 5.0.0.

I have ~ 110 servers to update bios and other firmware but online update was not working with HPSUM 5.1 or 6.0.1.

Managed to find a way to update these servers online using hpsum.

Server hardware - HP Proliant DL 360 G7

OS - HP VMware esxi 5.0.0, 474610

First update vib files for esxi then use hpsum to update.

Note - My servers are stand alone and not managed by vcenter server.

Now i don't have to do offline firmware update for these esxi servers and saved lot of hours on site visits.

(No need for iso boot etc)

 Use HP Smart update manager version 6.0.1 to perform online update (select vmhost).

Request to HP - I hope HP will continue to provide on-line versions of firmware files for all future VMware esxi releases.
