VM restart after failed host - vMotion and VMware HA
Hi,
I can move a running VM from 1 system to another system using vMotion.
I can automatically restart a VM from a failed host on another system using VMware HA.
Is it possible to restart a VM from a failed on host manually on a different host?
Does Vmware HA due to the nature of its operation reserve resources on the HA system to be able to service the HA requirement? For example if I have a 2 node cluster, and a VM that requires 8vCPU and 32GB RAM, it will reserve these resources on both systems.
Any insight and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
