4/16 SAN Switch password reset
Hi
I need to access two HP storageworks 4/16 SAN switches but I don't possess their password and we can't contact HP nor Brocade support because our company didn't purchase them.
I can ping them but can't access them using Putty with a serial interface as it gives me no feedback so I tried changing other cables but that didn't work.
The second swich responds to ping but when I try to access it with the SSO using Putty it shows a pop-up with the following message : "Network error: Connection refused"
Can anyone help me find a solution
Regards
FirasF

Re: 4/16 SAN Switch password reset
hi
if you don't have password you will have to connect with serial console reset the switch
and follow instructions in attached pdf.
53_1000114_02_FOS_Password_Recovery
find the procedure that suits your switch.
usually on newer switches it is on page 5
For Brocade 300, 5100, 5300, DCX, DCX-4S, BES using the ATA()0xa64g (and new U-Boot
ROM):
this is downtime for each switch.
Regards
give a KUDO if this helps
