Anyone using EVA3000, Netbackup, Oracle and Advanced Client?

Hi

I am wondering if anyone out there is using the following combination in their environment:
1. EVA3000
2. Netbackup 6.0MP4
3. Oracle 10g
4. Veritas Advanced Client

And if you are using the following combination how do you have it set? We've found out the hard way that Advanced Client is not compatible with EVA3000 and Oracle. We want to be able to take snapshots using Advanced Client and Back them up by presenting this lun to our backup server. I need some guidance on how to backup oracle in this environment without shutting down the database.

u hvnt mentioned abt the OS ur running with.

u can kick-in any pre backup jobs in veritas using the bpstart_notify script which is started from the backup client.

u cud write a bpstart_notify script which will

a. first put the database in backup mode
b. then trigger the snapshot using sssu.

the snapshot can be mounted either on client or on the backup server itself to back it up. all these can be done within the bpstart_notify script.

It is on HPUX. Do you have any examples using SSSU?
