B-series 4/32 with 2gb ELW 35km ISL B-series 8/8 4g ELW 30km

Hi

I'm planing an EVA CA remote replication. I want to know if 2 B-series fc switches will see each othe over ISL

switch 1 - A7537A  with 300836-B21 - 2gb ELW 35km sfp

switch 2 - AM867A with AN211A  sfp -4gb ELW 30km sfp

The distance is just over 14km

Hi, you're wondering if the long distance ISL can have different SFPs at the ends? Unsure but it seems likely. FOS Admin Guide for 7.0.0 doesn't mention that they need to both be of the same speed. The link however does.

Do you have license for this?

Hi, thank you for replying

As far as I know  no licences are required

We tried the isl with 4gb 10km ELW SFP's  on both ends  (over an 9km distance) and it is working just fine without any licences.

OK. Maybe it's different on your switches or the FOS version you are running.

In FOS 7 you do not need any license for modes L0(up to 5km) or LE (up to 10km).

If you run it on L0/LE it would make sense to me if you run out of buffers credits.
