I want to know if the Brocade Switch (silkworm 2800) support HP FC-AL Storage (i.e. FC-10, Model 30) in Quickloop mode. I want to put together my new switched stuff (i.e: CLARiiON and N-Class) with my old stuff (K-Class and FC10, model 30).

Re: Brocade support old FC-AL HP storage
The Brocade 2800 supports FC-AL
In order to set the right switch ports in Quickloop, the qlportenable command is necessary.
Example: qlportenable 9 will enable port 9 of the switch in Quickloop
With the command qlshow, you can verify the settings.
This works fine since we did this for K servers
with the old FC adapters supporting only FC-AL.
The connection made was to a XP512 FC-AL channel via the brocade switch.

Re: Brocade support old FC-AL HP storage
I know that it works... but the question is that is OFFICALY supported by HP. I have some FC10, Model 30 and EMC doesn't support that storage on their Brocade Silkworm 2800... that bullshit for me because this cie is a storage cie.... (They support HP server only)...

Solution
Hello Sebastian,
the answer is mixed: FC10 will work and IS SUPPORTED by HP in quickloop mode.
FC30 won't work... I tried it before. HP doesn't support it with Brocade switches.
Hope that answers your questions.
