Brocade upgrade path

I have a Brocade switch (Blade Center) running firmware v5.3.0a. I need to bring it up to v6.1.0d. Can I upgrade from v5.3.0a to v6.1.0d in one step? or do I need to upgrade to a in between firmware version before v6.1.0d?

One more Q: How do I find out switch model?

Thanks,

MO.

Re: Brocade upgrade path

From 5.3 you need to go to 6.0.x then to 6.1.0(xx). Note that 6.1.0d is no longer supported by HP. Going to HP's SPOCK website and getting the latest "B-Series FC Switch Connectivity Stream" document, the oldest supported version is 6.1.0f. The recommended version is 6.3.0a.
Which would mean from 6.1.x to 6.2.x to 6.3.0a.

Re: Brocade upgrade path

IMHO the latest for your switch is version 6.2.1b.

As said, first go to a 6.0.x, then 6.1.x and finally to the current version.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Brocade upgrade path

Torsten is right. 6.2.1b is recommended.

And check out http://www.hp.com/storage/spock "HP StorageWorks Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge" -- SPOCK (Need a free HP Passport account for access. New User Registration link is on main page.)
