DAS using FC?

Hi all

May a silly question...

Is there a way to connect a BladeServer with FC HBA and FC Brocade Switches to an "standalone" FC Enclosure without any EVA/MSA Controller. I just need single Disks on a single BladeServer using FC. could this konfig work with MSA20 Enclosures?

Because the MSA20 is SCSI, you cannot connect it to a blade.

But how about a storage blade (blade with disks only)?

Yes Torsten is right.

You would need an enclosure which has a controller with FC ports so that they get FC addressing and the SAN switch identifies the target properly eg: EVA4400 connected to P7000 blade enclosure.

yes, but i have to reuse a lot of LFF FATA Disks. I need just a FC attached Enclosure, without any EVA vDISK or DG Features. I like using every single Disks in the Enclosure without another Layer between... like a regular SCSI enclosure.

and when i skip the FC Switch using an FC PassTrough Adapter, direct from HBA to FC Enclosure?

All the FC stand alone chassis I'm aware off are using FC disks, not SCSI. I don't see any way to achive this.
