Difference of part numbers of transceivers

Hi everybody,

Do you know what is the difference between SFP AJ716A and AJ718A. Both of them say 8Gb/s short wave. I need to use one of them for brocade switches SAN, but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance

Roger

Re: Difference of part numbers of transceivers

For B-Series switches AJ716A is the correct part number for 8GB SFP.

Refer quick specs of HP 8/24 SAN Switch  at  http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13044_div/13044_div.html

AJ718A is released on H Series switches.  Refer quick specs of HP SN6000 Stackable Fibre Channel Switch at

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13553_div/13553_div.HTML

Probably these were not tested for B-Series switches extensively and hence it is not listed as option forB-Series switches.

Hari

Also Brocade SAN switches require Brocade branded SFPs.
