EVA 4400 - Address test verification failure

Hi all,

we wanted to change the configuration of an eva 4400. We uninitialised the system, shut down the system and removed two of the eight disk shelfes. After powering on again, the management modules startet but both storage controller did not.  Both controller stopped booting with an 'Address  test verification failure'.

Here is the output of the controllers:

Re: EVA 4400 - Address test verification failure

Hi D. Buettner,

The "Address test verification failure" error is pointing to DIMM issue.

In-depth cache diagnostics are run only at power on of a controller. Normal runtime diagnostics will determine if parity errors are affecting data and lead to controller termination in advance of data inconsistency. That is why you see such a controller failure upon power on.

I would suggest that you reseat the controller DIMM and check the status. If the issue persists, replace the DIMM with spare and boot the controller.

Thank You!
