EVAperf Data Log File empty
I try to write a log file with EVAperf.
I did it similar like in this Doc (Pages 7/8/27):
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/downloads/4AA0-2948ENW_SQL%20HP%20Servers%20and%20Storage%20WP_final%20120105_Rev2.pdf
The log file gets written and grows. When I try to display it: Nothing.
I switched the loggin format to text and the log file looked like this:
"(PDH-CSV 4.0) (W. Europe Daylight Time)(-120)","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(5000-1FE1-5002-9300)\Total host KB/s","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(5000-1FE1-5007-A140)\Total host KB/s"
"04/07/2006 20:33:41.015"," "," "
"04/07/2006 20:33:56.015"," "," "
"04/07/2006 20:34:11.015"," "," "
"04/07/2006 20:34:26.015"," "," "
The time gets recorded but the values are empty.
EVAperf Version: 1.2.60117 (Feb 2006)
Should this be working?
How?
thx & rgds Stiwi

Re: EVAperf Data Log File empty
We have 1 EVA5000 and 1 EVA4000 (interconnected). I look to the Performance Monitor on the Microsoft Management Console on the Server were I installed Command View EVA and Command View EVAPerf.
I get the real time data but can not record anything.

Re: EVAperf Data Log File empty
Did you also set up user friendly names for the Vdisks with "evaperf fn" command?

Re: EVAperf Data Log File empty
I opened a call at HP and my problem is now solved. What we did:
Delete all old predifined Counter logs.
Restart SAN Appliance.
Set Windows Service "HP EVA Performance Data Collector" to Startup type Automatic.
Start Windows Service "HP EVA Performance Data Collector"
In the Performance Monitor:
Create a new Counter log
Select an Object not a Counter to log (Will log all Counter of this Object).
Go
"(PDH-CSV 4.0) (W. Europe Daylight Time)(-120)","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(SAN3_EVA5000)\Total host Req/s","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(SAN3_EVA5000)\Total host KB/s","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(SAN4_EVA4000)\Total host Req/s","\\WSSANAPPLIANCE1\HP EVA Storage Array(SAN4_EVA4000)\Total host KB/s"
