FCID addressing scheme for brocade director switch (above 256 ports)

I am inquiring about FCID addressing scheme for brocade DCX or ED48000B.
FCID = XXYYZZ
we understood that YY address depends on port number per area number.
However max value of YY is FF.
So I would like to know FCID addressing scheme in case of number of physical port is above 256 ports.

in those cases, ZZ address is used for it ?
If so, how assign ?

Hi,

yes it uses the last byte when you have more ports.
For port numbers 256 and higher, the ZZ is 80 (in a 48000 Director).
They share the same area IDs as Ports 128-255
The exact order gets a bit complicated.
For 48-Port blades ports 16-23 share the same Area ID with ports 40-47 and ports 24-31 share the same Area ID with ports 32-39
Example for Domain ID 1:
Slot 3 Port 24 has Address 01a800 (Port Index is 168)
Slot 3 Port 32 has Address 01a880 (Port Index is 288)
In a DCX it gets more complicated, you can also get 64-port Blades for that.
The Fabric OS Administrators Guide has a list of the Hex-PIDs for all Ports.

No, they are determined by the switch.
