HP EVA/P6000 Linux Device Mapper path_selector service_time

Hi Folks,

The default path_selector for the HP EVA/P6000 storage arrays with the HP Device Multipath kit is 'round_robin 0'.

Anyone know if the 'service_time 0' policy is supported with HP EVA/P6000. If so is there any supporting documentation from HP that this is/is not supported.

Thanks,

Ian

There is documentation other then the DM-MP documentation found on SPOCK. It contains the supported defaults. The patch selector will work as long as the rest of the multipath.conf remains default. Based on ALUA/RTPGs dm-multipath will be able to see the optimal paths and group them accordingly. service_time should then allow to use path based on service in the prioritized group only which is not the worst thing.

You can have a look at link for DM best practices: http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01729460/c01729460.pdf
