HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

we have managed to update the switch's to v6.4.1b but when trying to go to v7.0.0a get message "firmware doesn't support platform" .

Could anyone advise / help. This is a badged brocade silkworm. Are they now out of scope ?

Re: HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

Check the SPOCK web site for the latest version for your product!

Hope this helps!

Re: HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

go to

http://h20272.www2.hp.com

and select "switches" from "other hardware" on the left side.

Review the B-series stream.

Version 6.4.1b is the latest so far for your switch.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

Hey, you can also see this in the release notes of 7.0.0a.

(It's not listed under supported models for this firmware).

I would advise you to read the release notes every time you try to upgrade a SAN switch.

Re: HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

Thank you all - i'm on a 2 week handover here so learning curve pretty steep - and some of these support sites are not the quickest to navigate - although the SPOCK is a good favorite to have now - Thank you all again.

Re: HP fabric 4/32 switch firmware update

Ah yeah HP's site takes a bit to get used to.

I usually start at this page when looking for manuals/downloads:

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-001&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_product=12169&h_page=hpcom&cc=us&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1

You get there by:

From hp.com click

  1. Support and Drivers,
  2. then product troubleshooting,
  3. then see all,
  4. then Storage.

At that page you can browse around storage stuff, or you can in the box to the right just type in 4/32. Or bl460c for example and you'll get another list then proceed from there to manuals/downloads.
