Lost Drives after updating HBA Firmware

I have a proliant DL585 which is connected to an EVA5000. Drives were presented to the server from the EVA and I was experiencing intermittant problems with file shares disapearing. As one of the steps to troubleshoot this issue I updated both my driver and firmware on my Qlogic cards. After updating the firmware on the 221x HBA's to version 1.45, I lost all my drives from the EVA5000 and am no longer able to see them in explorer, disk manager, or secure path manager. Has anyone seen this before?

Cynthia,

Where did you get the F/W & Drivers from ? Are these HP downloads ?

Yes. They were dowloaded from HP's web site. I also applied the latest SSD for the DL585 which had these drivers as well.

Re: Lost Drives after updating HBA Firmware

Hi Cynthia,

I got a similar issue after upgrading a QL HBA to 1.45, the reason was a change in the WWN after the upgrade - only one bit out of WWN HEX number changed.
I had to reconfigure the switch zoning & the EVA ports configuration to refelct the new HBA WWN.

Hope this helps.

Re: Lost Drives after updating HBA Firmware

Thank you very much. That was the problem...our WWID's had changed.
