Low cost SAN
Hi guys, our customer wants to have a low-cost SAN for R&D. it looks to have an obselete DL380G4 with FC HBA, however Im not really sure whats the cheapest FC SAN thatn I can have.
I was thinking of EVA3000, but seems too much complicated. Will an MSA1000 suffice for this?
2 x DL380G4 with HBA
1 x MSA1000 Small business SAN G2
the setup is this 2 DL380G4 server will connect to the MSA1000. will this be feasible? do i need a switch for this?

Re: Low cost SAN
The MSA1000 was available with hub or switch included optionally. Both may work for you.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Low cost SAN
T, any licensing requirements for this?
so the setup will be basically the 2 servers connects to the MSA1000 and should be able to see LUNs from it.

Re: Low cost SAN
Hi,
According to Quickspecs:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12095_div/12095_div.HTML
"All necessary configuration & management programs are included and there are no unexpected charges for extra licenses as your capacity needs grow or as you attach more servers."
