Multipathing for Backup

Hi!

 

We have MSA 1000 connected to one of our Windows 2008 R2 Virtual Machine as a pass through disk. We need to connect it to another server which is our backup exec server to backup the data from the storage. Do we need any software for this or just connecting the cables and initiating through SCSI target will do the job?
