Quality of Fibre Channel cables

SAN Newby question:
This is the first time I will be using Fibre Channel cables not supplied by HP, but rather exact length, made up cables, supplied from a cabling company (I could only get 50m rolls from HP).
An N4000 (rp7400) HP3000 server will be direct connected to an XP10000 using A6795A PCI 2GB Fibre Channel Adapters, and does not have any diagnostics to test these new cables that I know of; we must rely on offline or external quality checks.

How does one ensure that FC cables, supplied by an external cabling company, is of high quality and trouble free?

Missing MPE :-)

Re: Quality of Fibre Channel cables

You could check the port statistics, if you have increasing counters for incorrect frames, losss of sync, etc, then you should check your hardware configuration, including cables.

I'm not sure if that information is available from the XP side.
