RAID setup in SAN

For the Blade servers, Can I set up a RAID in a SAN solution without the useage of RAID controllers?

Re: RAID setup in SAN

Yes you can. You need an HBA (Host bus adapter) in the server in order to connect to the SAN Storage.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: RAID setup in SAN

I see! This would mean that The RAID setup would be entirely in the SAN common to all blades and I would need a HBA to connect the server to the SAN, right?

Would I need a HBA for every Blade in the enclosure?

Yes.

I think that the blade servers can share one HBA connected to the blade enclosure, consider the performance issues of this.
