SA 6400 hang system during boot

All,
Did anyone see this. Smart array card if connected to a StorageWorks enclosure, it hangs the system during boot. If it is just not connected to any enclosures, it will report no drives found and the system boots normally.
I have used the ROM Update utility to upgrade the firmware and it is still doing the same thing.

Mohamed,

What kind of enclosure exactly, SB or DB attach ?

Are you sure the SCSI cable being used is OK, have you tried another ?

Re: SA 6400 hang system during boot

1: do a ioscan and analyse the o/p. check scsi cables and terminators for loose connections.
2: connect the scsi cable to system after system boot, do a ioscan, anyalyse the o/p again.

3: use saconfig /dev/ciss# to see the details.

4:post the o/p of ioscan -fn

Re: SA 6400 hang system during boot

The enclosure a simple StorageWorks enclosure with double SCSI Ultra320 interface.
I have checked the cable, the card and they are OK
Awadhesh: The system is running Windows 2003 SP1. The saconfig stuff is for HP-UX.
