SAN switch port not visible in switchsow

Hi ,

We recently installed an HBA card in one of ur dl360g7 server.

The windows engineer installed the hba card , but now we are not able to detect the same in our San switch ...

details win 2008 SP2

HBA card  Emulex storport mini driver....

Switchshow displays nothing for that port...

 9   9   id    N4   No_Light .

Have you try to used the 0-7 port on the SAN switch?

Hey, if you get Emulx HBAnywhere - does that show any details for the card?
Are there any leds lit on the HBA/Switch Port?
Which HBA did you install? (maybe there are drivers for it on hp.com). Sometimes a portdisable 9; portenable 9 on the switch gets it back online.

Also you could try with fixing the speed and confirm the HBA settings (also in Emulex' HBAnywhere) like if it's FC_AL or P2P.

finally hp engineer did it..
reinstalled the driver and one fc cable was a suspect too.
