Using A5158A cards in host for both direct connect and fabric

I have 4 A5158A cards in a HP N class host. I want to use 2 cards to do a direct attach to a storage unit, and use the remaining 2 cards to do a fabric attach to a switch. I have the latest vesion of the driver and PHKL_21834 installed. Can anyone tell me if this will work?

The answer is yes you can do what you are aiming to achieve. They will work in both setups, provided you have the latest Driver software for the A5158A card

Hi Rosslyn,

Yes you can do it with very little problems.
We have an 'N' class that has 5 cards, 4 going
direct to storage and the remainder to a switch
running fabric, which has a Tape library
attached also. Make sure you have the minimum
of A5158A driver version B.11.00.06 later if
possible wich I believe is B.11.00.08
