We have a C7000 enc with 15 BL460/G6 blades. We want to eleminate the SAN storgage back-end and just use attached storage. Is this do-able? We are going to use four 1GB nics from each Blade, and was trhinking of the D2200sb fully populated with SAS 600GB disks 6G 10K for the storage.
Thanks,
Louis

Solution
This will work as Direct Attached Storage to one of your BL460G6's (in the adjacent slot) but it cannot be shared with the other BL460's. to use this as a shared (iscsi) storage, you will need a HP P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA) software to turn the D2200sb into an iSCSI SAN for use by all servers in the enclosure

Re: Using D2200sb in C7000 for 900 VDI clients, any problems?
Thanks for your reply. I knew we needed the additional software and was more concerned with the iops needed to support 900 VDI clients. After more research and con-call with HP and VDI team, 8000 IOPS were required for our clients therefore a left-hand SAN solution would be a better fit for us.
