XP256 - performance monitoring using sar

Running SAR every 10 mins & extracting disk info then looking for devices showing over 50% busy I see AVQUE values of 12000+ !!

Device C12t1d6 is OPEN-9 device on Fibre connected XP256.

Why am I seeing such large AVQUE values?

Time Device Busy Avwait

20:40:01 c12t1d6 66.10 116.17

22:50:01 c12t1d6 71.07 12673.15

23:00:01 c12t1d6 75.83 9265.22

Haven't got access to Performance ManagerXP but can you suggest any other way of checking disk utilisation?

Re: XP256 - performance monitoring using sar

What is going on on the system at that time? Your samples show this happening in the evening. Does it happen at other times of the day? If it is limited to the evening are you doing backups then? A large upload of data? How many interfaces do you have and how many LUNs? Maybe your data just is not distributed well enough.
The first thing I suggest is to find what is using that LUN that heavily at that time. You can start breaking it down from there.
