presenting Lun from EVA 4100 (CV7) to Sun Solaris 8

i have a sun fire server V880 with Solaris 8 as OS. want to connect it with EVA4100. FC HBA is QLOGIC (Sun platform) Part # 375-3363 (SG-XPCI2FC-QF2-Z 375-3363 Sun 2Gigabit/Sec PCI Dual FC Host). are there any known issues for this. or can i just simply connect the server to fabric (brocade switch) and present normal Vdisk using UNIX OS selection ID in Command view.

just want to test this scenario.

thanks for the help in advance.

Hi,
it depends on the Solaris version (SPARC or Intel/AMD x86, 64?), to check the drivers and MPxIO/SFS for the supported versions against the EVA4100 firmware (what is it pls?)
the pain is one part of the reality

Re: presenting Lun from EVA 4100 (CV7) to Sun Solaris 8

the following is EVA 4100/frm 6110 supported for the SUN fire V880 SG-XPCI2FC-QF2:
minimum patches: 108528-29 and 110912-05.
SFS 4.48 or later
you should check all other coexistence in here:

Re: presenting Lun from EVA 4100 (CV7) to Sun Solaris 8

Hi,

You will want to review the "HP StorageWorks MPxIO For Sun Solaris Application Notes" http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00854937/c00854937.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

For Solaris 8 and 9, you will need to use cfgadm to configure the host to access the storage system - otherwise, no LUN's will be seen.
