removing disks between MSA30 enclosure

since one of the enclosure is not working

i would like to remove the disks from enclosure A to B, in order to backup the data, will this persist the raid configuration/data ?

this is DL380g4 data protector storage
with msa30 (2 enclosures)

Hi,

There isn't anything "Smart" about an MSA30. It is just a disk shelf...

Assuming that the MSA30 enclosure is attached to a SmartArray controller of some form, then yes the RAID configuration will be kept... There's a copy on the disks.

one enclosure is dual bus, second is single bus

moving disks from dual bus to single bus enclosure

What controller are you using ???

How are the logical drives configured ?

Moving things from a dual bus to a single bus MSA30 might cause issues, as the SCSI IDs will be different.

Attach the ADU report, will give a better idea on wats the setup and what are you trying to achieve.
