view-all display was recently broken to be point of uselessness (7/19?)

[ I'll be a pig, and create a fresh topic, because this troubles me too much. Sorry ]

Please roll-back the new  view-all output right now!

It was broken, it should be fixed.

Practicing end-user based quality control now?

A single hot-topic can blow away all other activities, adding no value, only clutter.

The requested change (to output by recent change versus topic creation order) might be correct by the letter of the requested change, but it dos not match the intend.

See attached JPG to illustrate the problem.

Since it sounds like some people prefer a list of Recent Topics, and others need/want a list of Recent Posts, we'll make them both available on each category page.  The change will take place tomorrow night, and be available on Friday morning.

The way the ITRC category listing worked in the past, where you could see all posts within that category, sorted just as a board is (based on the most recent reply within each topic) isn't a function currently available on the Lithium platform. I'll see if there's an opportunity to create something closer to it than the current Recent Topics and Recent Posts applets.

I work for HPE.

Well, all threads (topic) in category, with their replies only available when you looked at a thread.

Great. That would be a nice a quick resolution.

Whatever they do, please only present one row ( line )  per topic please, not for each post in the topic as  stumbled into today.

I suppose you have to make an exception for a recent reply to a topic which is also floated to the top.

Cheers,

Hein

I'm not sure why topic floats should appear in the "View all"?

But I have no strong opinions on that.

Please fix the replies problem............show everything under the original post, do not show every single reply as its own post.................would like to be able to fire whoever had the "brilliant" idea to change everything in the forums, what a mess.

It looks like it now has two view-all buttons.  One for topics and one for posts.

But the former still doesn't sort by latest post.

Yeah now we have 2 buttons. ok.

Except that the order is still broken.

Do these folks ever try this stuff ?

And the buttons are too low and still take up too much stinking real-estate.

Why are [view all] and [find more solutions] not on the header lines (recent post, recent topics, solved posts)?

My screen is 2 x 1600 x 1200 landscape, but even if I pivot to portait, 1600 pixels tall, I would still need to

scroll because the stupid button is 2000 pixels down and thus does not fit on any 'normal' screen.

Oh, and can you get rid of the 'Join the conversation smiley faces?' The irony is embarrassing.

Have the developers try eat to eat their dog food...  guaranteed it will make them bark and barf like us !

Cheers,

Hein

At least they are listening.  :-)

>Do these folks ever try this stuff?

Nothing to try.  They are just configuring existing features.

And the recent change allows you to select either topic and/or posts.  (But it seems to be ignored.)

Under Preferences > Home Page

>can you get rid of the 'Join the conversation smiley faces'?

Perhaps you would like the banner picture from HP Networking?

Or ExpertOne:  (Those guys are really smiling. :-)

But it does appear that each category can have different banners.
