Major PC Alteration

Last night an auto update occurred and this morning everything has changed. All files, pics and favorites on the internet are gone. Background is gone. When I try to resestablish favorites...and save...another prob exists. I then look to favorites and there is nothing there. However, when I go to a web site and save, I'm then asked if I wish to overwrite it! If you were to look at the fav list there is nothing visible. Anyone know what the  heck happened and is going on??

What model HP PC/laptop do you have? What Windows version?

What browser version are you using?
