Graphical emoticons have been disabled
Based on user feedback/input (both here as well as a poll run on the home page), we have disabled graphical emoticons within the community.
Users can obviously still use text-based emoticons, but they will no longer be automatically turned into graphics.

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
Oh, great. :-( Now I have to go back and edit all my posts to replace them. ;-)
At least I could use the forums search to find them.
(Any reason you had a poll on them when you could have just searched?)
Are you going to remove that smiley face on the editing bar?

Nevertheless - Thank you!

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
Well then take it out of the **bleep** tool bar!!! What the heck is wrong with you people? Now you're going to have 3 million questions about why it doesn't work when I click on the smiley.

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
Apparently I have to do my own translation work, too. That *bleep* should have said "darn" with an "m" replacing the "r".

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
You have got to be kidding. The icon is still visible and it inserts text, how is this disabled?
I am starting to think that HP is playing some prank on us for some new reality show. There is no way this could get as messed up as it is without being on purpose. I just need to find the hidden camera...

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
@Tom - No, they've disabled emoticons, not (yet - I hope) the icon.
So :) will not become a smiley.

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
Vo, clicking on the icon inserts the ":smileysurprised:" text, as you pointed out. That's what we're complaining about. If the icon is not going to work properly, then why didn't they remove the daRn icon?

Re: Graphical emoticons have been disabled
So I see none of these strange icons.
