ME TOO button, anything else new?

I'm now seeing a ME TOO button on the first post of a topic but with no announcement about its purpose or features.

I also don't see it in the FAQ but since I can't search, I can't be sure.

Has anyone used it yet to see what happens?  I.e. use it on this topic.  :-)

Thanks for testing this.  Right now the button must have broken and disappeared because you pushed it too many times.  :-)

 >the button is intended to convey the idea that ME also had the problem being discussed.

I guessed that but wondered why it wasn't documented.  And where the new user info was recorded.

Also, it would be better if it was closer to the REPLY button and not so close to the Add Tag.

>it has appeared, as if by magic.

Same magic with me too.

>a cryptic "ME TOO" button probably fits in better than one saying

I was at least expected something in the FAQ or someone bragging about it.  :-)

Re: ME TOO button, anything else new?

I wanted to hit 'ME TOO' on Steven's first reply.

That is, me too  could not find the darn button until Steven told me to login first.

So it will always be too late for me too right?

Those that want to indicate 'me-too' don't see it, they start a reply, are forced to log in, reply 'me too' and then they see the button.

At the very least they could grey out the button for anonymous users right?

Cheers,

Hein.

Argh, I just realize this new button again takes away scree real-estate for fluff.

An other 50 pixels or roughly 5 %

It is kinda cute, but at the very least they should have put it in line with the [reply] button as it is effectively an alternative to that reply button, as someone else also remarked.

Converged? Clueless!.

Cheers,

Hein

I can't see it at all.  But it now says 3 people, so it's available for others?

Why?  We don't want riffraff in the forum. ;-)

Re: ME TOO button, anything else new? (Ratings column)

It appears there is also a new column on each board, Ratings:

   Author     Rating     Views

Is there anyway to get this removed?  I don't see why we need Ratings, when we already have Kudos.

And if it is Kudos, it should say Kudos.

This extra column is causing the text to spill over to the right, especially if there are people with long names:

Re: ME TOO button, anything else new? (Ratings column)

I saw that rating column also.

Guess they are preparing for yet an other reward / validation system as succesfully used by other Lithium driven forums and happenings on buyer sites like Amazon and such.

I have little hope that will work.

I have no hope anything will work until they switch the login timeout to become really long.

The kudos had potential I thought, notably because non-authors coudl give them..

But the kudo's don't seem to work, even less so than the old ITRC points IMHO.

So we'll get some new lipstick to put on an ugly pig... it will remain ugly.

Cheers,

Hein
