Hi,
whenever I want to insert a link like
after posting the repliy it is showing as
/t5/System-Administration/How-to-change-a-card-instance-number-in-HP-unix/m-p/3787731#M264402
(note: there is an added spcae between https and the URL, that makes the URL invalid, but I can post it)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Problem inserting links
> [...] insert a link [...]
Apparently the folks in charge think that this behavior is a feature,
and that having to use the "Insert/edit link" gizmo, instead of simply
pasting the URL text, is a benefit.

Re: Problem inserting links
/t5/System-Administration/How-to-change-a-card-instance-number-in-HP-unix/m-p/3787731#M264402
Hmm, what a feature ... !
Even if the link itself and the shown text is identical in the compose window, it is no longer in the posted text - the domain is missing then.
A real killer feature.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Yes, I've seen your mutilated posts, you now have to go back and edit them all to fix them. :-)
Steven and I have already discussed it a month ago here:
http://community.hpe.com/t5/General-Feedback-and-Suggestions/URL-mutilation/m-p/6895581
The solution is to just use "http:".
I guess it's time to send mail to the forum admins?

Re: Problem inserting https links
I'm not sure what is going on with these URLs or why. There appears to be some difference in how various URLs are being handled, e.g., intra-domain or external, versus fully qualified URLs from inside the community itself. The conversion of fully qualiified URL text to live link is common to standalone rich text editors (e.g., Word), but I'm less familiar with this functionality when applied to text referencing a link within the local site.

Re: Problem inserting https links
>I'm not sure what is going on with these URLs or why..
As I mentioned with the announcement with https:, it only happens with those. http: works fine.
So either it was always there with https, or two changes were made at the same time.
