Re: Sequence of postings (in a topic)

Randomly in that it changes on a refresh with no other posts?

If you sort by topic, new topics mess up the "order".

Re: Sequence of postings (in a topic)

If I open this topic (thread), sometimes my initial post is on top, sometimes on bottom ... this started last week, never happened before.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Sequence of postings (in a topic)

When I view this, or any, topic without being logged in, the latest post is at the top of the page.  This was a change that occurred last week as Torsten states (I was prepared to start the same topic if I didnt see one already there).

If I login, the post order within the topic changes to show the original post at the top of the page.  However, this is because I changed the setting "Linear Layout Settings - Linear Format: Sorting order within topics" from "Use default (newest first)" to "Oldest first".

For me this behavior is consistent.

But still nonsense - every other forum board in the world will show the newest comment at the bottom...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Sequence of postings (in a topic)

Dear Moderators,

consider to change the default back to what it was for so many years , show the newest post at the end of a thread!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

So are you logging in between the two views?  That's the only time is is "broken" for me before I login.

I.e. the forum is useless for me, unless I login.

That is also my experience, which is  a PITA compared to the previous situation (where the default ordering is original post first).

The new ordering change is a minor problem compared to:

1) Need to login to reply

2) Need to login to see what's new

Re: Sequence of postings (in a topic)

Now I can see the initial post at top again, even if I'm not logged in.

Can somebody confirm?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Yes, looks fixed. But it is very painful to look at the forum without logging in.  It isn't configured to my preferences.

(Not enough posts per page.)

And worst, I had to remove that cookie to login.  :-(
